Get Your Account Ready for the New Spark App
As we approach the much anticipated redesign of our beloved Spark, we need to make sure everyone is prepared. This means making sure your account is setup correctly so we can migrate your data to your new account. If you do not care about your data, then you can go on about your day.
To have a seamless migration of your account data, your account must have an active Cloud Connect account. To check if you do, go to the menu and click on “Cloud Connect”. If it is turned on with no errors underneath your email address then you are good to go.
If you have errors present in red text, send me an email so we can fix those for you.
If you DO NOT have Cloud Connect turned on, DO NOTHING. We need to take some steps to fix this without losing your current data. Below is a video explaining what you need to do and under that is a step by step process of what to do.
Instructions:
1. Go to the Menu and scroll to Calendar Transfer.
2. For EACH calendar you use, you need to select Calendar+Data as the top selection, and then each calendar you use as the second selection.
3. Click Submit and you will be given a code as well as an option to text or email yourself that code. Choose one and make sure you get each code sent to you if you need multiple.
4. There is a bug we cant fix for codes that start with ZERO. If your code starts with ZERO, come back in a couple hours to start this process again. We have tried to fix this but have been unsuccessful.
5. Once you have a code for your calendar(s), your data is backed up. Now we can create a Cloud Connect account.
6. Go to Cloud Connect in the menu. It should be turned off. Turn it on and you will be taken to the log in screen for Spark. You will need to create an account. No need to use your work email but use an email that you will have access to even after your career.
7. Once you create your account and log in, the app will have no calendars. Don’t panic. This is why we generated these codes.
8. Go back to Calendar Transfer. Now click IMPORT.
9. Enter your code where it says “Transfer Code” and your calendar will be imported with all its data.
10. Do this for each calendar you use.
